Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe
Christian Theology wrapped in a beloved children's book. C.S. Lewis', The Chronicles of Narnia are still a top seller today. Published in 47 languages, the series sold over 100 million copies. There is a rich Christian wealth of symbolism in all the Narnia stories, but none perhaps so clearly as in the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. The four children are referred to as sons of Adam and daughter of Eve. Aslan the lion is the crucified and resurrected Christ. Themes of good, evil, betrayal and redemption permeate throughout. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is not the first book chronologically in the series but I would recommend starting there.
