In the fourth volume of the New Encyclopedia of Southern Culture: Myth, Manners, and Memory, by author and editor Charles Reagan Wilson, the reader is treated to an exploration of the historical culture of the American south. Collectively contained are 95 entities that give voice to the memories that encumber the Old South, addressing traditions and stereotypes.
