Understanding English Language Variations
In modern day America, students from all over the country are speaking many different variants of the English language. In the book Understanding English Language Variation in U. S. Schools (Multicultural Education Series) authors Anne H. Charity Hudley, Christine Mallinson, and featuring a foreword by William Labov, an introduction by James A. Banks, and an afterword by Walt Wolfram, the reader is treated to an exploration of these variations, and learns the meanings and origins behind each of them. Understanding English Language Variations is part of the Multicultural Education Series, and was released on November 29, 2010 byt the Teachers College Press.
