Body in the Reservoir
Sensationalism has long been an accepted tradition in southern culture. The book The Body in the Reservoir: Murder and Sensationalism in the South, by author Michael Ayers Trotti, tells the story of a series of murders which occurred in the Richmond, Virginia area between the end of the nineteenth century, and the beginning of the twentieth. The novel depicts how sensationalism evolved over the years, and with every development in the murder cases. The book takes a deep diver into the society of the time, and explores the relationship which southern culture has with violence. The book takes a painfully dramatic look at how far we've come as a society, but how far we have yet to go.
