We are not disappointed in the 5th addition. Focused for the graduate student, the details will immerse you into the history of that time with the first Christians. The text is accompanied by stunning photography. A pronunciation guide is included as well as multiple charts. The author does a great job of placing the New Testament in historical, political, and geographical context. Walk with the disciples as they stumble around after the crucifixion. I hadn't thought of it before but, in much of the new testament you are essentially reading their diaries. Gain insights into the life of Jesus, tremble at the foreshadowing in Revelations, feel the joy at Lazarus' resurrection.
