Marraige, Celibacy and Heresy
Marriage and celibacy have been controversial topics in the Christian faith for as long as the religion has existed. In the Book Marriage, Celibacy and Heresy in Ancient Christianity: The Jovianist Controversy (Oxford Early Christian Studies) author David Hunter explores the details of the Jovianist controversy. This is the first major study of the heretic that has ever been performed in the English language. The book focuses on the ideas, understanding, and viewpoints of early Christians on the topics of marriage and celibacy during the first three centuries. The book was published in June of 2009, and is part of the Oxford Early Christian Studies series.
