Continental Ambitions
Christianity and Roman Catholicism has a long and sordid history throughout Europe, and the religion's impact and influence on the North American continent is every bit as sordid. In the book Continental Ambitions: Roman Catholics in North America, The Colonial Experience, author Kevin Starr begins the tale by examining the early settlement of Scandinavian Christians in North America. From there, the book moves into the destruction of the Caribbean by New Spain, and then to the New France settlements of Quebec and Montreal, and their fully formed Catholic and anti-reformational cultures. The book was published on November 10, 2016, by Ignatious Press.
