Evangelical Christianity
Catholicism has been the dominant form of religion in Latin America for many, many years. In recent years, however, evangelical Protestantism has emerged as a strong alternative for those becoming disillusioned with the Catholic church, and is quickly growing in both popularity, and numbers. In the book Evangelical Christianity and Democracy in Latin America (Evangelical Christianity and Democracy in the Global South), author Paul Freston examines the established hierarchy of practiced religions in Latin America, and illustrates the ongoing shift in established norms. This book is part one in a four book series, entitled Evangelical Christianity in the Global South, and was published by Oxford University Press.
