The aesthetics of art created during the renaissance and reformation periods in history, came about due to a significant change in the perception of art. In the Book The Origins of Protestant Aesthetics in Early Modern Europe: Calvin's Reformation Poetics, by author William A. Dryness, provides a deep exploration of the developments regarding thought and understanding in late medieval Europe. Attention was shifted towards a celebration of God's presence and placement in human history. The endangerment of such aesthetics due to these new revelations is analyzed. The book was published on May 23, 2019, by Cambridge University Press. This is a must read for those with an interest in theology.
