Joyful Voices
The singing often heard from a church choir is often some of the most beautiful and harmonious music ever heard. The book Joyful Voices: A Capella Singing in Congregational Worship (Presbyterian and Reformed Life) by author Dennis Prutow explores the present; a time when the use of musical instruments in Christian worship is a common occurrence. The author takes the position that such use of instruments devalues the musical experience in church services, that the pure, simple and natural beauty of a cappella singing is the most ideal way to celebrate the word of God. Leaning on his experience as a seminary professor, Prutow makes his point expertly.
