Poverty & Education: A Guide for Educators
Teaching with Poverty in Mind is a great book for teachers. It explains a lot about children who are forced to live in poverty. It covers why they feel the way they feel, why they learn the way they learn and why they act the way that they do. Students who are forced to learn in impoverished situations have a number of issues that they have to overcome. Getting to school, eating and even having the proper materials can be a barrier for learning for these children. This book covers how to help these children without hindering the other children or showing favoritism to these kids.
